This well planned reasonable program helps you to get no little hassle. Depart from Kajansi Airstrip early morning, stay in a comfortable lakeside lodge for two nights while you track the gorillas in the daytime and then return to Entebbe airport mid-morning. All ground transport from airport to lodge and trail head are included.
Day One: Fly from Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you travel from Kajansi Airstrip to Bwindi in the south-western part of Uganda approximately 1h 20 min flight; 45 min transfer to lodge. In Bwindi someone from the lodge will be waiting for you, holding a signpost with your name. He will transfer you in about 45 minutes to the Lodge overlooking Impenetrable Park. You’ll sleep in one of their nice self-contained safari hotels. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge (F/B).
Day Two: Gorilla Tracking
Today is the big day… After breakfast with packed lunch, prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare Mountain Gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim, in fact.
It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. Once the Gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a Mountain Gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience.
This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge (F/B).
Day Three: Bwindi – Kajansi
After breakfast, you drive back to Kihihi Airstrip making sure you check in 1 hour before departure time. Your flight back to Kajansi normally takes 2,5 hours, but could take longer when your Plane has more pick-ups on the way than planned.
