Day One: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Our Driver guide will pick you from your hotel and take you to Murchison Falls National Park. We will stop at Ziwa Rhinos Sanctuary for tracking the Rhinos and also have Lunch here before continuing to Murchison River Lodge just outside the park boundaries.”” The day will close with a cool drink and a fabulous view over the river Nile, and the evening coming with all the noise of an African night.
Day Two: Murchison Falls National Park
The day will be spent viewing game around the park and along the Nile. We will leave early in the morning and cross the Nile by the ferry for a game drive from. Expecting to see lions, leopards, Elephants, antelopes, pumba and giraffes amongst others. In the afternoon, we will go on the impressive launch trip on the Nile, up to the bottom of falls, giving you a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and many different birds! Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge.
Day Three: Murchison Falls National Park
Early in the morning the boat will take us downstream to the Delta, where the Nile discharges into Lake Albert. This trip will show us all the beauty of this national park especially the delta with all the different birds. This is a good chance to see the elusive Shoe bill Stork! In the afternoon you can relax and swim at Murchison River Lodge Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge.
Day Four: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park
After your breakfast and a packed lunch in the morning, we will leave for Kibale Forest National Park. We will pass close to Lake Albert and on a clear day the view from the top of the Albert rift is spectacular. In the late afternoon, we will arrive and have dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse
Day Five: Chimp walk and Swamp walk
After breakfast, we will start our chimp walk during which you may also get to see 10 other primates! Kibale Park is also known for all the butterflies and birds. In the afternoon we will walk through Bigodi Swamp home to a community based project. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse.
Day Six: Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Early morning we will leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will travel through Fort Portal and reach Mweya in Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a gorgeously beautiful view over Kazinga Channel. You will check in at Hippo Grill Camp and have lunch, and in the afternoon, we will go on a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Hippo Grill Camp.
Day Seven: In Queen Elizabeth National Park,
This day is for a game drive on the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with thousands of Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants etc. Also on the programme is a two hours launch trip on the Kazinga channel where we will see all the animals from the waterside. . Dinner and overnight at Hippo Grill Camp.
Day Eight: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Isahasa. Our second day in this beautiful park.
Very early in the morning after breakfast we will go to Isahasa Sector, southern sector of the National Park. This part is called Isahasa because is famous for the tree climbing lions. After Lunch in Ishasha River Ntungwe Camp, we shall enroll for an afternoon game drive in search for the tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha River Ntungwe Camp.
Day Nine: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi.
After breakfast we will have a game drive as we checkout for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and arriving in time for Lunch at Lake Kitandara Camp. After your delicious lunch, you can relax and get ready for the next days’ gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Camp.
Day Ten: Gorilla Tracking.
Today is the big day… After breakfast with packed lunch, prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare Mountain Gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim, in fact. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. Once the Gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a Mountain Gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Camp (FB).
Day Eleven: Batwa Trail.
Although Bwindi is mainly known for the gorillas it has a lot more to offer. Today you will enjoy the Batwa Trail, a firsthand introduction to one of the most unique cultures worldwide. The Batwa pygmies are a forest people displaced from the rain forest they shared with mountain gorillas. This experience will give you the opportunity to learn more about their age old culture while you enjoy a hike with the Batwa guides, see how they lived and hunted, hear ancient legends and learn about medical plants.
The revenue generated from these activities directly benefits the Batwa to strengthen their community. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Rest Camp (FB).
Day Twelve: Bwindi – Lake Bunyonyi.
After breakfast we depart with our packed lunch from Bwindi and head to Lake Bunyonyi which is a three-hour drive to this place known as (“Lake of the little birds”). The volcanic lake is bilharzia – free and safe for swimming and canoeing. Optional activities at/from the island are; walking, jogging, cycling, Bird Watching, Cultural and Historical tours, Canoeing and boat rides. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Safari Resort. Day Thirteen: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smallest parks, but certainly not to be underestimated. It is the only Ugandan national park (besides Kidepo Valley NP) which is home to Zebra, Eland and Impala, as well as an abundance of other wildlife – not to mention the lake itself, which is teeming with Hippos and Crocodiles! You will stay just outside the park boundaries, but it will feel like being in the middle of the park. From your verandah and restaurant you have a great view over the park and its wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock (FB).
Day Fourteen: Lake Mburo National Park.
Lake Mburo N.P. is one of the two parks in Uganda where it is acceptable to go for a safari walk with a knowledgeable ranger. Of course you are going to do this!! Footsteps and animal droppings enlighten which animal has been here and how long ago. It is exciting to draw near the wildlife at such close range. In the afternoon, you can either plan for another activity; game-drive inclusive, boat safari or horseback riding. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock (FB).
Day Fifteen: Lake Mburo – Kampala.
After breakfast the second last part of the journey will bring us back to Kampala. On the way back, you will have lunch in Mbarara town and there will be an opportunity to a stop at the Equator for photo shoots and buying souvenirs and have tea or coffee. We will then bring you to a guesthouse, campsite or hotel of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe – or, if you continue your holiday somewhere else or back home, we will bring you directly to Entebbe airport for an on wards flight.
Day sixteen: Kampala – Entebbe/Departure
We will bring you back directly to Entebbe airport for an on wards flight.
