Gorilla Safari Lodge is a relaxed and luxurious lodge on the boundary line of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Bwindi has a population of around 340 mountain gorillas roughly half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. The ancient forest is home to the biggest ever troop of gorillas that are familiarized with humans. It is a humbling once-in-a-lifetime experience to be able to observe these shy and peaceful animals in their natural habitat.
Accommodation
Gorilla Safari Lodge provides its guests with luxury accommodation in eleven spacious cottages each providing the perfect setting to relax after an exciting day of trekking. The well-appointed cottages all have solar-powered lighting, en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water and flush toilets and individual verandahs offering excellent views of the unspoiled tropical rain forest. Two of the cottages have two rooms (both en-suite and featuring a cozy fireplace) with an inter-joining door making them the ideal choice for families or larger groups of people traveling together. There is also the spa where you can have a massage after the tiresome gorilla trekking/habituation experience. The main lodge consists of a restaurant, bar, lounge and campfire area overlooking the forest.
