Day One: Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Our guide will pick you up from your Hotel in Kampala and leave South Westwards. Take a stop over at the Equator for photo shoots and buying souvenirs and have tea or coffee then proceed to Bwindi. Have lunch en route and then proceed to the park passing through the gorgeous undulating landscapes of Kabale also known as the Switzerland of Uganda. Dinner and Overnight . Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Camp (FB).
Day Two: Gorilla Tracking
Today is the big day… After breakfast with packed lunch, prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare Mountain Gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim, in fact.
It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. Once the Gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a Mountain Gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience.
This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Camp (FB).
Day Three: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Take breakfast and then drive through the Ishasha sector and then short game drive en route to search for the famous tree climbing lions. You will reach the park in the afternoon. Have lunch and take a game drive through the crater lakes region. Dinner and overnight at Hippo Grill Camp (FB)
Day Four : Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game drive/Boat ride.
Go for an early morning game drive in the park in search for the early risers as they get back to their hide outs. Game drives are sometimes tensing for the time taken to encounter these animals is sometimes unpredictable but any encounter is a worthwhile!.
You will search for Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Hyenas, and many bird species. In the afternoon you will have lunch in then go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel to view water game. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Camp (FB).
Day Five: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Fortportal.
After chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, you will be picked up and transferred to Fort portal for dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Gueshouse (FB).
Day Six: Fortportal – Murchison Falls National Park
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park after breakfast. You will pass through the verdant country side of Fortpoartal , Hoima and arrive in the early evening. Dinner and overnight at Murchison River lodge (FB).
Day Seven: Murchison Falls National Park – Game drive/Boat ride
Early morning you will go for a game drive in the park to catch up with the early risers and predators as they will returning to their hide out. After the game drive you will return to the Lodge to have lunch and then in the afternoon go for a boat ride on the Victoria Nile that will take you to the bottom of the Falls. Dinner and overnight at Murchison River lodge (FB).
Day Eight: Murchison Falls National Park – Chimps tracking – Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a forest walk in Kaniyo Pabidi in search for Chimpanzees. You will walk beneath mature mahogany and iron wood trees. Chimpanzee tracking is the most famous activity but you certainly see many forest birds, including the Chocolate backed kingfisher, the White-thighed Hornbill and Puvel’s illadopsis found nowhere else in East Africa. After chimpanzee tracking transfer to Kampala or Entebbe for your next flight back home.
